The German national anthem, officially the third stanza of the "Deutschlandlied", was reaffirmed as the national anthem of the Federal Republic of Germany 60 years ago, in 1952.

This decision was made by Federal President Theodor Heuss and Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, who agreed that only the third stanza should be sung at official events
